Solution Highlight: ISEC7 SPHERE v20.1.0

Editor's note, October 2026: This article was first published in October 2020 and describes ISEC7 SPHERE 20.1.0. The current release is 20.9.0, which adds CVE monitoring against the NIST National Vulnerability Database, monitoring of certificates and Microsoft 365 client secrets, and a dedicated indigo dashboard, among other things. Some names have changed since: Azure AD is now Microsoft Entra ID, and MobileIron is part of Ivanti. The current feature set is on the ISEC7 SPHERE page.

ISEC7 SPHERE keeps evolving around the needs of our customers, and the next major release brings new features for alerting, authentication, UEM migration and lifecycle monitoring. Here is what to expect in version 20.1.0.

What is ISEC7 SPHERE?

ISEC7 SPHERE is a holistic digital workplace and mobile service management and monitoring solution that covers all aspects of daily operations in your mobile infrastructure. We introduced it in Introducing ISEC7 SPHERE.

  • Centralized control saves time and reduces operational costs
  • Proactive alerting on points of failure helps prevent outages and keeps people productive
  • Identifying the point of failure in an alert shortens troubleshooting and reduces the cost of downtime
  • Less downtime overall
  • End-to-end visibility leads to a better user experience and fewer help desk calls
  • Compliance monitoring reduces security risks
  • Detecting weak network connections helps you plan future investments

New features in 20.1.0

We are proud to announce the new features of the next major release, targeted for mid-November 2020.

Smart button integration

The smart button integration won the BlackBerry AtHoc ISV Award in BlackBerry's FY2020 partner awards.

  • Trigger BlackBerry AtHoc alerts with a simple press of a button
  • The integration of The Things Network (TTN) allows the connection of LoRaWAN buttons
  • LoRaWAN combined with ISEC7 SPHERE offers highly available alerting with low power consumption and non-invasive installation of buttons in your office environment

We describe the use cases in detail in Solution Highlight: ISEC7 SPHERE IoT for Smart Buttons, and the radio technology behind it in Demystifying Technology: IoT Communications, Long Range.

Endpoint lifecycle monitoring

  • Automatic history of various events for all endpoints
  • Associations with EMM systems and end users
  • Compliance violations
  • Manual entries

  • Microsoft Intune

New notification targets

  • BlackBerry AtHoc
  • Microsoft Teams

Management improvements

  • Extended VIP monitoring with configurable thresholds for device and user monitoring
